At Appleton Roebuck Primary School, we are one family, but withing this there are four "houses".
Each of our houses is named after a species of apple grown in this area over 100 years ago. We actually planted these trees back into our orchard in 2016 when we celebrated Apple Day! This was a celebration of 100 years since the school sent barrells of apples to the Navy during World War 1. We have a special hanging that we made as a school in our entrance to commemorate this wonderful gift.
Our houses are important "Mini families" and we work together in these groups to plan events, work on school projects - such as our playground development, and hold competitions. Each house is led by pupils in Year 6.
We look forward to our yearly Sports Day where each house works hard to win the trophy.
