Swimming, Rugby and Football

Just a reminder for parents that swimming lessons for our year 1 and year 2 children commence on Monday 10th September. Any children in years 3 - 6 who would benefit from lessons are also able to go in the autumn term. Please ask your class teacher for a letter and payment details.

Letters will be going out soon to children in KS2 interested in joining the York City Knights after-school Rugby club. This will start at 3.15pm on Tuesday 11th September. YCK do ask that payment is made on the first session. Thank you.

Football Match

Our first football match of the season at St. Mary's, Askham Richard resulted in a 3 - 2 win for us. It was a brilliant match with superb skills and teamwork shown from both sides. The official match report is below.

Unfortunately, our match against Rufforth has been cancelled due to inclement weather and pitch conditions.

Dance Festival

The year 3 and year 4 children had an excellent time at the Tadcaster cluster dance festival. They enjoyed performing our Jai Ho dance on the stage at Tadcaster Grammar School and made us incredibly proud. Children were mesmerized by the other performances; both from other primary schools and that of the Grammar students. The afternoon finished with all the pupils performing a dance. A huge thank you to our faithful followers for their support.

District Cross Country

A huge congratulations to our pupils who took part in the Selby District Cross Country Race today. We were incredibly proud of their achievements. A special mention goes to Oliver in Borrowers who qualified to represent the District Team in the North Yorkshire Finals in March.

The whole school enjoyed football sessions with Mr Scoreby on Friday and they absolutely loved it! These sessions will continue throughout the year and will also focus on multi-skills and team building.

We still have lots of unclaimed posters and wristbands in school following our sponsored event. These were handed out to the children but have then been left in classrooms. If you think your child should have a poster or wristband and hasn't brought it home, could you please put a message in their planner for the attention of Ms. Holmes or Miss Richardson. Thank you.
